Operation Write Home Memorial Day Blog Hop

click image to go to the beginning of the blog hop! Welcome to the OWH blog hop for Memorial Day! I am sending this little Any Hero card out, straight from my backyard where there might be some holiday barbecuing going on! I used sketch #191 from Operation Write Home, which you can find here . They have so many sketches that I find it's a great resource. I do love sketches! The papers are all from my stash, but I can tell you the patriotic papers come from an Authentique 6x6 pad called Pride. The image and sentiment are from My Favorite Things. This little set is quite new to me and I've had fun coloring with my Prisma colored pencils. there are a few different sayings that fit onto her blackboard. The little button is an embosslit from Stampin' Up, I love buttons on cards and these "faux buttons" help keep the card from getting too bulky! Club Scrap - Arnold Grummer Blog Hop!

Welcome to my stop on the Falling for Handmade Paper blog hop! Today we have a dozen talented bloggers sharing projects featuring handmade paper paired with Club Scrap's Falling Leaves collection. We received a cool paper making kit from Arnold Grummer and I set out making some paper using the colored card stock from Club Scrap 's Falling Leaves kit in addition to some scraps on hand. If you've never made paper before it's really quite fun and a bit addictive! The kit includes some iridescent confetti along with metallic confetti, quite cool to add to the mix. I also dried some flowers from my garden in addition to some of the greens off a centerpiece from my son's wedding! Here are a few of my papers --- Then I set about deciding upon what to make. As primarily a card maker I decided upon a box and set of cards. I used Club Scrap's Assembly Line Card making deck for the directions on the box, in addition to some of the cards. Here&

WCMD - Blog Hop with OWH

Today is a big day in the lives of card makers everywhere! And I am hoping to get the rest of my cards packed and shipped off to OWH. I've been busy working on some holiday and winter themed cards to make the early bird deadline of October 15th. There's a big blog hop going on with Operation Write Home, you may have come from a link from their blog, but if not be sure to head over to the Stars and Stripes blog to catch all the action! For the blog hop we were asked to make a thank you card using one of the OWH sketches. If you are ever in need of some inspiration check out the "library" of sketches they have here. For this card I chose sketch #101 and followed it pretty closely. The cardstock is some nice heavy weight navy from Club Scrap and the patterned papers are from Authentique.
