Club Scrap - Arnold Grummer Blog Hop!

Welcome to my stop on the Falling for Handmade Paper blog hop! Today we have a dozen talented bloggers sharing projects featuring handmade paper paired with Club Scrap's Falling Leaves collection. We received a cool paper making kit from Arnold Grummer and I set out making some paper using the colored card stock from Club Scrap 's Falling Leaves kit in addition to some scraps on hand. If you've never made paper before it's really quite fun and a bit addictive! The kit includes some iridescent confetti along with metallic confetti, quite cool to add to the mix. I also dried some flowers from my garden in addition to some of the greens off a centerpiece from my son's wedding! Here are a few of my papers --- Then I set about deciding upon what to make. As primarily a card maker I decided upon a box and set of cards. I used Club Scrap's Assembly Line Card making deck for the directions on the box, in addition to some of the cards. ...

Operation Write Home Memorial Day Blog Hop

I am sending this little Any Hero card out, straight from my backyard where there might be some holiday barbecuing going on! I used sketch #191 from Operation Write Home, which you can find here . They have so many sketches that I find it's a great resource. I do love sketches! The papers are all from my stash, but I can tell you the patriotic papers come from an Authentique 6x6 pad called Pride. The image and sentiment are from My Favorite Things. This little set is quite new to me and I've had fun coloring with my Prisma colored pencils. there are a few different sayings that fit onto her blackboard. The little button is an embosslit from Stampin' Up, I love buttons on cards and these "faux buttons" help keep the card from getting too bulky! Grungy Monday 05

This week we were challenged to a technique from 2008 that Tim Holtz shows how to make a niche for a scrapbook page. Ofcourse you can take those same instructions and use them on a variety of projects or cards, not just for scrappin'! You can check out the specifics of the challenge and find the link to a video that explains it on the Studio L3 blog . I have been meaning to finish up on a swapped page book for sometime now, so the idea of a niche for the cover popped into my head a few days ago. You can see some of my pages in this post . But my ring-bound book will just have the pages I received in the swap. The pages are 6x6 and are quite dimensional, so I made the cover 6.5 x 6.5 and then opted to just use one ring in the top corner since trying to use the Bind-it-All would've been hard considering all the extras on each page.
